Pediatric
Division Chief
In 2020, Columbia University Neurological Surgery's Pediatric Division, directed by Dr. Neil Feldstein, merged with Weill Cornell Medicine Pediatric Neurosurgery, directed by Dr. Mark M. Souweidane. Dr. Feldstein now co-directs the combined program with Dr. Souweidane, and the joint NYP Pediatric Neurosurgery program extends to all New York-Presbyterian campuses.
Our program's multidisciplinary approach ensures that each child is offered a treatment plan considering the disease and its lifetime implications. This perspective offers pediatric neurosurgery patients the best opportunity to enjoy a normal transition from child to adult. The Columbia/Weill Cornell comprehensive pediatric neurosurgery program is nationally recognized for its leadership.
The Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery is part of the nation's top children’s hospital, Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital for pediatric neurology and neurosurgery. Working together, our physicians routinely perform delicate neurosurgery on children of all ages. Specializing in disease-related conditions as well as congenital or developmental problems that appear in infancy or early childhood, our goal is to minimize the risks and maximize treatment and functionality after surgery.
Patient Care
Our neurosurgeons are among the best in the world. Patients and their families come from all over the globe to seek the opinion of this team. Our commitment to care also includes a commitment to make every possible effort to evaluate and treat children as soon as possible.
