Overview

Dr. Shutran is a neurosurgeon with fellowship training in the endovascular and open-surgical management of patients with cerebrovascular problems. He completed his residency at Tufts Medical Center and a fellowship in cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. His passion for cerebrovascular disease took root early in residency when he witnessed firsthand how excellent quality care can make a difference in the lives of patients with aneurysms, vascular malformations, and stroke. He believes that broad training allows him to counsel patients on the best treatment options and alternatives. His clinical and research interests include flow diversion for cerebral aneurysms, middle meningeal artery embolization for subdural hematoma, and venous sinus stenting for intracranial hypertension. He sees patients at Stamford Hospital in Stamford, CT and Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
